Communication over Rayleigh Block Fading Channels
English

About The Book

This publication considers transmission over a discrete-time Rayleigh block fading channel (RBFC) in which the symbols within a block experience the same fading and the fading between different blocks is independent. The information that can be transmitted via the channel without channel state information (CSI) is crucially influenced by the structure of the input signal. This work presents a nested Monte-Carlo algorithm for computing estimates of mutual information for SISO (Single Input Single Output) RBFC without CSI in the case when the channel inputs are discrete. Afterwards the achievable rates of frequently used modulation schemes and some experimental schemes are analyzed.
