A retrospective unmatched case-control study comparing the treatment outcomes of adult patients with Pulmonary tuberculosis(PTB) and those co-infected with PTB/HIV at a health centre in Benue state Nigeria. The objective of the study was to determine the treatment outcomes of patients co-infected with PTB/HIV compared to patients with PTB only; to determine the prevalence of PTB in HIV positive patients at point of diagnosis; and to establish the risk factors associated with poor treatment outcomes in both PTB/HIV negative and PTB/HIV positive patients. The results showed that the odds of having poor treatment outcomes among cases was 1.8 times higher than among controls (p= 0.0272). Category of PTB treatment regimen CAT1 and CAT2 (OR 13.6 CI 1.4028 131.886; p= 0.024) and not being on ART (OR 6.7144; CI 1.8373 24.5375; p=0.004) were significantly associated with poor treatment outcomes
