Composition diversity and spatial-temporal distribution of assemblages

About The Book

This study aimed to inventory the diversity of lizards in two forest remnants the BIS forest and the UFAC forest both located in Cruzeiro do Sul Acre observing the abundance richness species composition and seasonality. The work occurred between September 2009 and August 2010 totaling twelve phases with nocturnal activity and use of the methods visual search limited by time and occasional encounter. We obtained 122 records distributed in four families seven species and 86 specimens for BIS and four families nine species and 36 individuals for UFAC totaling an overall of ten species and five families (Polychrotidae Tropiduridae Spharodactylidae Scincidae and Gymnophthalmidae). The two areas were different in relation to the species where Plica umbra occurred only in the BIS forest and Mabuya sp. Anolis transversalis and Potamites ecpleopus presented themselves only in the UFAC forest. In this study we found that the most efficient method was time limited search (PLTn) with ten species and 116 specimens recorded by this method.
