Computations of Laminar and Turbulent Flows of Nanofluids
English

About The Book

This book presents computational studies on nanofluids under laminar and turbulent flow regimes. The laminar flow is in a parallel plate channel using copper oxide nanofluid which may find application in the electronic cooling. The turbulent flow is in a circular tube comparing three different nanofluids: copper oxide aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide which may be suitable for heat exchangers employed in building heating and cooling. The computational results under both flow regimes show that the fluid dynamic and heat transfer performances of nanofluids are superior to those offered by the ethylene glycol and water base fluids. Additionally experimental results on the viscosity and the specific heat of nanofluids are presented in this book including a new correlation derived for the viscosity of nanofluids.
