The Novel Follows The Life Of Its Protagonist Yetta Rayevsky A Jewish Immigrant From Russia Who Becomes Involved In The Labor Movement In New York City. Yetta Experiences Firsthand The Harsh Realities Of Working-Class Life And Witnesses The Exploitation Of Laborers In Factories And Sweatshops.
