Concurrent training in childhood: new approaches on physical fitness

About The Book

Over the last years scientific community has increased exponentially their interest on concurrent training due to the controversial results in literature being conscious of its importance for health and performance. Despite being reported in adults literature is still scarce and unclear with regard to children. There is a lot to know about the effects of concurrent training on physical fitness in children performance. Therefore this book provides a set of new scientific evidences developed with the aim of analysing the effects of different approaches between concurrent resistance and aerobic training on explosive strength and aerobic capacity in childhood. Different approaches of concurrent training (e.g.: concurrent training performed in different days different order) were tested to measure children'' performance. Several recommendations based on our recent data are provided and proposals for future researches are defined. Our findings should be useful to teachers coaches and researchers to maximize training and performance specifically in prepubescent children.
