Confessions of An Escape Artist

<p>I no longer write for survival. I write to be heard. My writings often speak on mental health as it is important to navigate through dark times in our lives and know there is always a light at the other end of the tunnel. Also because I spent most of my life trying to fit into the workspace and not taking any of my gifts seriously I write about self discovery. I include all of my artistic abilities in my poetry as I am not just one type of artist. I also use my gift to speak out about oppression and social justice as these issues are equally if not more important. Poetry is a form of rebellion. I was told if you want to read a good story read a history book but if you want to know the truth read poetry. I believe poetry to be the expression of and for the people poetry is by all accounts a revolution. </p>
