Technical writer Tom Godot can't believe his luck when CONSPIRACY! the book he has co-written with the elusive Harold Stevenson is a hit. The book details a plot to hijack communication satellites. As Tom crosses the country on his book tour he is disturbed by people interested in early drafts and dogged by an NSA agent. Communicating by fax with his editor and by encrypted e-mail with the mysterious Stevenson Tom reaches out in his loneliness to his California girl friend Sylvia Hanson who turns out to be a pivotal figure.
