This study is motivated by the practices of teaching and learning of biology content which despite being part directly or indirectly of the reality experienced by students rarely is presented to them the relationship between the scientific content covered in school and their experiences. Thus the study''s main objective is to propose the strategy of Context-Based Teaching as a way to bring what is taught in school closer to the student''s everyday life.
