In general the contribution of local communities to the maintenance of natural capital in the MTKB Landscape is manifested in their achievements that have contributed greatly to the conservation and protection of biodiversity in the Congo Basin. Major achievements include the academic training of community youth (an asset for employment and local management of biodiversity); the change in people's behavior in the use of natural resources; the reduction of intra-community conflicts related to resource management; the discouragement of traffickers and poachers of living species; the creation of protected areas and forest concessions of local communities; the expansion of the community conservation approach in other provinces of the country (Kasai Equateur...); the engagement of local communities in the conservation of biodiversity; and the development of a community-based approach to conservation. ); the commitment of local communities to nature conservation; the pacification of communities by harmonizing work in a multicultural area and the community denunciation of crimes against biodiversity are the expression.
