Contribution of remote sensing and geophysics in hydrogeology: Ville Mongo

About The Book

A quarter of the Chadian territory is covered by Precambrian basement formations. Access to groundwater resources for populations living in these areas has always been problematic. This is the case of the town of Mongo located in the center of the country which does not have a water tank capable of satisfying the population and it is necessary to wait until 11:00 p.m. or midnight to fill 20 liters of tap water. Thus a study on geological accidents to locate areas of hydrogeological interest has led us to use the method of remote sensing for the search of lineaments and analysis of geophysical data that shows that the anomalies in the form of U V and H gives a good flow to confirm the method used. Finally the analysis of the productivity of the identified structures showed that there is a relationship between the flow and the thickness of alteration as well as the depth or after 60 meters the chances of obtaining a good flow is minimal. The study has the advantage of better orienting the companies to avoid negative drillings as well as the decision maker for the good decision making.
