Coronis

Coronis serves as an appendix to Swedenborgs larger work True Christian Religion which is considered one of the central texts of the New Church movement also known as the Church of the New Jerusalem. In Coronis Swedenborg provides additional commentary explanations and summaries of key points from True Christian Religion. The work covers a range of theological topics including God the Trinity salvation the nature of the Bible the life after death and the spiritual sense of the Word (a concept central to Swedenborgs hermeneutics or approach to interpreting Scripture). Swedenborgs theology often emphasizes the idea of the inner spiritual meaning of the Bibles text which he believed could be understood through divine revelation. In Coronis Swedenborg also addresses some criticisms and misunderstandings of his theological ideas that had arisen since the publication of True Christian Religion. He clarifies certain points and further expounds on his views.
