After 1991 corporate sector of India has been on the upswing. It has augmented the need to revamp the law relating to companies to make it pragmatic and aligned with contemporary realities. It is in this context that the current text has been written. The basic aim is to explain the various provisions of company law in a simple manner for easy understanding of students. An attempt has been made to highlight the application part of this law. In view of the reduction in total number of substantive provisions in the current company legislation reference to relevant rules has been made wherever considered necessary. Keeping this fact in mind the book has described various concepts of this subject in a comprehensive manner. The book also discusses how the new law is different from its predecessor.
