About The Book

The later Wittgenstein by his rejecting the ‘inner process’ view of understanding meant that meaning something cannot be consisted in certain conscious or experiential states and processes; or while speaking cannot maintain a particular inner mental process going on. It is interpreted that the main target of Wittgenstein’s attack on the inner process conception is the view that understanding is a particular kind of underlying and hidden mental process. As it is seen that Mulla Ṣadrā does not believe in a single fixed process but he maintains every word descends from a multiplicity of cognitive and noetic levels of the soul which is based on the knowledge not only introspective knowledge but also knowledge of the world in general he has gained.
