Novel organic compound of N''-(4-Hydroxy-3-Methoxy Benzylidene) Benzohydrazide was synthesized. UV-Visible and FTIR studies were carried out to characterize the newly prepared compounds. Electrochemical and Non-electrochemical methods have revealed that thus prepared compound inhibited corrosion by spontaneous chemisorptions on the surface. Unprotonated and protonated organic compound have participated in the dissolution of iron. The positively charged surface complex prevented the approach of H+ ions. The hydrogen evolution reaction was retarded and thereby corrosion was inhibited.
