<p>With basic repairs made after escaping the Hesco ship The Nirvana sets course for the outer regions. Captain Joe March knows they are by no means ready for another engagement—their armaments are low and the hull is still compromised. Not to mention that he's running out of alcohol which he needs to keep the ghosts of his past at bay.</p><p>Meanwhile it's been years since Rockwell has had so much freedom. Having been a political prisoner and prior a mining operations supervisor he's never had to seek a purpose before. As opposed to many others the events leading up to their quarantine has improved his life but he doesn't know how to be in this community. Will he be trusted to have a role? Because they need to work together to face the challenges ahead—especially as the community is far from cohesive.</p>
