The book “Costing Expert” written by the author Ashwani Kumar is meant for students preparing for B . Com . M . Com. and aspirants for CA CMA CS and other professional examinations in the subject of Costing. It contains numerical problems in the subject cited along with their possible solutions. There are nine chapters in the book. Every care has been taken to clarify the subject in depth. It is written in a very simple language. Problems are taken in the sequence of simple to complex with appropriate solutions. Flow charts are used where it is necessary to clarify in the solutions. Every care has been taken to minimize the errors though not ignoring the human error suggestions from the readers will always be considered and honored. The book will be helpful to managers working on the subject of cost control and cost reduction up to an acceptable quality level and also to the cost accountants engaged in cost audit. The author is presently a practicing cost accountant . His academic qualification is B . Sc . M. A. (Economics) M . Com . FCMA . He served as a lecturer in economics in the Education Department of the Punjab Government (India). He is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India . While in service he took coaching classes in the subject of costing for students preparing for the CMA examination. He has to his credit two articles written by him on material cost control and labour cost control through the standard costing technique published in the journal The Management Accountant of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
