Costume and Textile in Qatar : Identity and Presentation

This work highlights the role which costume and textile can play in terms of cultural identity the way they changed their form during different periods of history and the function that such material can play when shown in a museum context to present national and cultural identity. It highlights also the way Oriental costume have been influential and admired by couturiers from Poiret to Yves St Laurent also considered. The book examines new concepts for the role and impact of cloth and clothing which have developed in Qatar.
