CQ Jamboree

About The Book

Each year over one and a half million Scouts get together for the annual Jamboree-On-The-Air (JOTA). Using the modern communication technology of amateur radio stations Scouts have the opportunity to make friends in other countries without even leaving home. JOTA is the largest annual youth gathering on earth where the voices of young people of all nations are heard. CQ Jamboree describes its history written by Len Jarrett in 1987. Les Mitchell wrote the introduction to it. On the occasion of the 50th JOTA Richard Middelkoop made an update for the subsequent years up to 2007. The current edition adds another 10 years in the log up to the 60th JOTA. Richard has researched material that surfaced during the move of the World Scout Bureau from Geneva to Kuala Lumpur and from other sources. He discovered new twists to the JOTA story. This booklet shows historic photographs and information that have not been published before. It completes the story of Connecting Scouts. Up to now
