The purpose of this research study is to answer the question: What effect does implementing state system wide curriculum (programs with the same courses and learning outcomes for all colleges in the state system) in a large urban Midwestern two year technical/community college have on student retention graduation and employment and how do faculty attitudes about state system wide curriculum influence this effect? This book reviews the history of state system wide curriculum and its implementation in one system then follows the research study that answers the question of its effectiveness.
