Creature Love

Creature Love: A Poetic Study of a Man is a collection of haikus exploring the textures and nuances of the man writer and poet Katherine Batten MacDowell fell in love with. Utilizing the restrained delicate and elusive form of Haiku poetry Katherine seeks to distill an essence of this singular human being she has been exploring through her art for the past two years. With each work she creates she better understands her experience of him and his relationship to her as well as her own self. This work seeks to highlight how we may continuously come to know another person and discover who they are loving them as creatures who unfold over time thrilling each day to see the subtle ways in which they change.
