Criminal Investigation of Corruption

Corruption is a socially unacceptable phenomenon that directly threatens human rights undermines morality and endangers the stability and economic progress of the state. Beyond violating legal regulations it also represents a deviation from fundamental social principles. Therefore combating corruption is a fundamental prerequisite for the development of an open and democratic society. Particularly complex forms of corruption have an international dimension as illicit financial transactions are used to conceal the origins of money acquired through crime and corruption. Moreover almost all forms of economic crime are closely linked to corruption.
