Criminal liability for crimes committed through Deepfakes

The academic debate on deepfakes raised in this paper is complex since on the one hand in view of this problem of technological development it is proposed to increase the penalties or create new specific criminal offenses based on the technical characteristics of the means used increasing the difficulty of proof. On the other hand it is postulated whether the use of deepfakes can be included in traditional crimes against honor dignity image and identity in the conception that only the specific means used to commit the crimes would be changing.
