Criminal liability for environmental crimes

About The Book

It took a long time for humans to realise that natural resources are limited and that they are primarily responsible for their scarcity. Human aggression towards nature has given rise to the need for legal mechanisms to protect it from the thoughtless actions of humans who are instinctively selfish. In an attempt to protect nature the State has used its most powerful legal instrument criminal law. The aim of this research is to study 'criminal responsibility in environmental crimes: an analysis of the forms of protection and the possibility of using the International Criminal Court as a body for punishing transnational environmental crimes'.
