Crisis management in small US businesses.

About The Book

A loss of critical power to sources of community stability such as small businesses interrupts quality of life and can also cause serious economic implications if power is not quickly restored (Farrell Lave & Granger 2002; Kharchenko & Brezhnev 2012; Mitroff & Alpaslan 2003b). Businesses that are prepared for or prone to crises become a critical component of national crisis/disaster resiliency (Herbane 2013) and for those businesses that maintain a level of preparedness stand ready to react to disasters through predetermined plans and training (Haddow Bullock & Coppola 2011). The present study was concentrated on how small businesses addressed crisis management as influenced by interruption of electrical power.
