About the Book: Crisis of Corporate Communism Politics of Murder in Kerala The book is a collection of essays on Indian mainstreamCommunism with a focus on the CPI (M)s Kerala unit which isundergoing a critisi of sorts after the brutal murder of adissident leader who went on to form a Revolutionary Marxist Party.Though his area of influence was limited to the Vadakaraparliamentary constituency next to Kozhikode in Kerala his murderhas exposed the ideological bankruptcy as well as the verticaldivide in the CPI (M)s leadership. The entire Left party membersleaders and thinkers and supporters are engaged in a serious debateas to what has gone so drastically wrong in the CPI (M) that it hasto ensure the elimination of a local leader and face the wrath ofgeneral public. The study examines the realities behind the pecullar politicalsituation which Kerala unit and CPI (M) in general have been placedunder after the murder of T.P. Chandrasekharan. There is also aninsight into the quality of leadership in CPI (M) especiallyafter the outburst of one of its district secretary about thepartys method of eliminating its opponents. The authorsincluding some ideologues from the Left camp examine thisideological bankruptcy. About the Author: V K Cherian V K Cherian is a Delhi-based journalist turned publiccommunicator. He is an occasional writer and an activist. He hasover 20 years of mainline journalism to his credit and a decade ofpublic communication. He is highly dedicated to the uplifter of thepeople through democratic socialism and the Gandhian methods ofachieving it. He is also the founder and promoter of an NGOIndo-Afric-Khadi Foundation. As a journalist he has reported on Indian parliament and hasclosely interacted with the Indian politician class. He has alreadytwo books to his credit.
