Eventually White Fang is captured and taken to a camp where he faces further hardships under the hands of cruel men. His experiences shape him into a fierce and distrustful animal but his loyalty is tested when he is sold to a kind-hearted prospector Weedon Scott.Through Scott’s patient and compassionate treatment White Fang begins to trust humans again and gradually becomes domesticated. However the transition is not without struggle as White Fang’s wild instincts are deeply ingrained. The novel traces his emotional and physical transformation as he learns to navigate between his animal nature and the affection of his human master.
