Crystal Gazing

Northcote W. Thomas (1868-1936) was a British anthropologist and colonial administrator known for his significant contributions to the study of African cultures and societies. He conducted extensive ethnographic research in various parts of West Africa particularly Nigeria and Sierra Leone during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His most well-known works include the publication of several multi-volume ethnographic surveys such as Anthropological Report on the Ibo-speaking Peoples of Nigeria and The Natives of Nigeria. These works contain valuable documentation of African cultures languages customs and material culture which have been valuable resources for subsequent anthropological research.
