However As The Story Unfolds It Becomes Clear That The Widespread Use Of The Hush-A-Bye Has Unintended Consequences. With The Constant Silence People Lose The Ability To Communicate Effectively Leading To Social Isolation And A Breakdown Of Human Connection.
