Cultural Aesthetic Codes Applied to the Visual Design of Products

This research aims to discover and define cultural aesthetic codes which have an impact on creating locally specific visual design products. Since I have studied industrial design I have been attracted by the concept of design as a form of cultural expression. In particular the form language as a tool to analyze underlying patterns across different visual products deserves to be further examined. By tracing the function of form language this study will consider how the growing need to recognize local tastes would balance with a pursuit of a general pattern in design.
