Not only did the culture evolve during the upheaval of the 60s 70s and continuing into the new century but the author a believer in Christ struggled to adapt and when he couldn't his decades-long marriage and faith were at risk of disintegrating as he danced with the devil and returned to his alcoholic enslavement time and again.
