RAW AND RIVETING.I got this book quickly expecting some sort of colorful insights about the cultures of differentcountries but was surprised that it wasnt about that at all. Even if it wasnt what I expected Icouldnt put the book down. It was a very visceral account of what it feels like to live in a shelter without your own home and seemingly with no hope nor direction and the struggle to try tosucceed. At times it was tear-jerking angering at certain parts but in the end its a book that fills itsreader with hope. It is a great book for anyone who is struggling in some form or another!2. THIS IS A REAL LOOK AT REAL AMERICAThe contents of the book might not justify the title but in reality this is part of the true Americanculture because it is real and it is happening. It is quite obvious that the author is pulling from realitybecause her words seem to strike true and really bring you in on the life of someone who ishomeless. Many people might disagree but it IS culture-the culture and the way of life that manyAmericans are struggling with on a daily basis. A must read for those who want a look at the RealAmerica.3. PREPARE FOR A ROLLER-COASTER RIDEEveryone will enjoy reading this but it will test your range of emotions to the absolute limits. Itdoesnt beat around the bush and goes straight to the story of homelessness from a Black Americanwomans point of view. Youll get to see what it really is like to be in such a situation and it willchange your perspective forever. 10/10 highly recommended.
