Current Status of Open Retroperitoneal Aortic Aneurysm Repair

Following the endovascular revolution in aneurysm repair open surgery remains suitable for only a subsection of patients. These operations are becoming increasingly technically difficult and access to training is often limited. This book explains the retroperitoneal (totally extraperitoneal) technique for repairing abdominal and thoracoabdominal aneurysms. It summarises all the evidence to date and compares this with traditional transpirational aortic surgery.
