Cyber Technologies and African Indigenous Knowledge Systems

This book is centred on the demystification of indigenous knowledge system (IKS) vis-à-vis the growth of cyber space technologies which endure both constructive and antagonistic effects in Africa and other developing nations.It aims to explore the effects and influence of cyber technology on indigenous knowledge system especially in Africa. The discussion is grounded on three theories; Post-colonial theory Eurocentric theory and Technological determinism. It features the development of cyber technologies in relation to IKS and tackles the current debate on the role of cyber technology in IKS and critique of IKS policy options.
