Cycling promotion in Post-socialist Cities

About The Book

Environmental problems linked to mobility congestion and energy consumption along with the need to build more sustainable transport systems prompted many European cities to revise their mobility policies. One of the tools used to achieve this shift is urban cycling promotion and bicycle facility implementation. This book of Urban Studies examines the best practices of urban cycling promotion policies and aims to establish which policies measures and practices proved to be more efficient in bicycle modal share in two post-socialist cities: Ljubljana and Budapest. The analysis should help other cities to develop faster and more efficient their own cycling culture and infrastructure.
