Cynara

<p><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>In this previously unpublished 1975 novel Donald Newlove (1928-2021) recounts his journey towards metaphysical enlightenment visited along the way by the unsettled spirit of Cynara his great love who died tragically at the age of 26. (The character of Cynara first appeared in Newlove's 1972 novel </span><em style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>Leo & Theodore</em><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)> which along with its 1974 sequel </span><em style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)>The Drunks</em><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)> was published in 1978 as </span><em>Sweet Adversity</em><span style=color: rgba(0 0 0 1)> and reissued by Tough Poets Press in 2019.)</span></p>
