Dancing the Strong Woman in Malaysia - is the first attempt to illuminate the parallel between the strong woman feminism and contemporary dance within the Malaysian context. As the image of the strong woman and the presence of feminism in contemporary dance is interestingly examined this book documents some of the eclectic works/dances of three most prominent Malaysian women choreographers Marion D'Cruz Aida Redza and Mew Chang Tsing by exploring the roles that they created for and of women in their dances. The book proclaims that the women choreographers their dances and the roles of the strong and their stories theorize a female model of development which posits an authentic voice for women. Ultimately this reflects women's strengths women's determination women's authority and women's empowerment.
