About The Book
Description
Author
A retelling of Dante's Inferno in rhyme with annotations and illustrations to suit our Modern Age by the Brothers Grim & Grimy (undead). Dante finds himself lost in a dark forest assailed by beasts with no hope of escape he is met by the ghost of the Roman poet Virgil sent by Dante's guardian angel in Heaven to guide and protect him down and through the many levels of Hell at last to face the Devil himself in the final Ninth circle. This is the only way his only escape and Dante may live to see the stars once more if he listens follows (lady) Fortune and learns all his lessons well. Dante sees a few things along the way too. Dragons monsters demons giants centaurs talking trees and harpy and the multiple fallen souls that populate this Hell. It all paints a demented picture of the Divine Wrath of the Lord on all those pesky sinners.. The book itself was rumored to be a dreadful dare between the Brothers to create a complete thing separately together each departing into their own chambers for one dreadful night of demented creation one to write and the other to paint mad artworks. When completed next morning each individual part then came together perfectly bonding though each evil Brother had no idea of the others conception before they again disappeared into their dark crypts for further centuries of quiet slumber. This document is all that remains a relic from another time once thought lost to History (a sister of Fortune see Canto VI) read it at your peril. It is deep dark and difficult. Good luck on your journey. Credo.. The Brothers Grim & Grimy is the nom de plume of the Irish born writer and artist Declan Moran.
