Databases in Mobile Telecommunications

Databases in mobile telecommunications have become more and more important due to growing data volumes. More efficient database solutions are needed to support temporal and logical consistency. This book presents a possible database architecture for the growing data dilemma. It presents a database architecture for IN and GSM data and a performance analysis toolbox for transaction-based software. Using the presented architecture as a test case a detailed queue model analysis is presented. The result of the analysis is twofold. The most important result is that even a complex transaction-based system may be analyzed accurately enough to get relevant and reasonable results with the toolbox. Second it appears that parallel database architectures have a lot to offer in high-volume data environments.
