There was a vast expansion of America's suburbs as GIs returned home and built new lives for themselves.</p><p><br></p><p>In that day Irvington a small village on the Hudson River north of New York City exemplified the trend from exurbia to suburbia. The stories in this book recount the author's adventures as he grew up there. They are personal and unique but in many ways they could have happened in any small town in America. They can be read in sequence as a personal mini-history or one by one at random. Either way they are meant to be illuminating. And fun!</p>
