Alqama Shibli is a well-known poet from Kolkata. He has experimented in genres like Ghazal Nazm and Rubai and has also published several collections of poems written under the category of children's literature. He was blessed with the opportunity to perform Hajj in 1997 and at the insistence of friends and relatives he wrote a travelogue of Hajj which was published serially in the daily newspaper Azad Hind (Kolkata).
