The story begins when she first met her third and last husband whom she was still married to when the accident occurred. Jenna did not start it here to put blame on anyone. She used this as a timeline to show facts surrounding the whole ordeal. Jenna has permanent brain damage which affects her limbs speech and memory. Long term memory is intact with areas of her short term affected. Age and too much pot in the seventies doesn't help! There are sections that are totally blank. Writing this manuscript has aided in some recovery. People have said to her that she is actually fortunate to not remember the accident. They do not understand how much Jenna's opinion differs. Jenna is struggling to put the past behind her to concentrate on a New Jenna. To be capable of tasks she once took for granted is one of the hardest things she faces. Jenna also realizes that she has accomplished much since being incapacitated and virtually alone! That being man-less is probably a good thing! To write and publish DEAD ASLEEP has been therapeutic for Jenna. She wishes it will help others as much as it has helped her. Jenna will admit to places in the book where spots in her memory of certain events were vague. She may have embellished. Jenna does not ask for riches rewards pity or accolades for this feat. Respect would be nice! Even if that keeps it's distance she has written this to help others and to help herself. Jenna truly hopes you enjoy this book and that you share it with others.
