The book is about a man who is a P I. That went to help an old friend that was being blackmailed. As the story went on it was hard to tell who to believe or not to believe. Bill being a good P I. figured out that the syndicate was involved. Being a good P I Bill was hard to trick but this case was getting the best of him. As the story continues Bill falls in love with Lilley to find out latter she was lying to him all the time. People were being killed and no one knew who was doing the killing.<br>
