Deafness and Technology

During the last few years accessibility has become a catchphrase when discussing the inclusion of people with disabilities. Through the convergence of technology new possiblities have arised to make the daily lives of hearing impaired people easier and more independent. In this book different apps gadgets and websites are presented that are useful for this target group. It should give a compact and precise overview of what is possible now or what could be in the near future. Qualitative interviews made with five deaf people provide information about the acceptance and knowledge of such tools within the deaf community in Carinthia Austria.
