<p><em>Dear Enemy</em> by Jean Webster published in 1915 is the sequel to her popular novel <em>Daddy-Long-Legs</em>. The story is told through a series of letters written by Sallie McBride who takes over as superintendent of the John Grier orphanage the same institution from the first novel. Sallie corresponds with various characters including her enemy Dr. Robin MacRae with whom she initially clashes but later forms a deeper connection.
