This Is The Story Of A Cooperative Effort By Two Policemen In The Otherwise Peaceful Area Known As The Stellingen In The Countryside In The North Of The Netherlands. It Starts With The Mysterious Disappearance Of A Local Shopkeeper And Ends With An Apocalyptic Happening. The Story Alternates Chapter By Chapter Between An Examination Of The (Anonymous) Murderer And The Slow Progress Of The Two Policemen. Most Of The Places Mentioned In The Story Are Real.
