Decamerone

<p>Il Decamerone di Giovanni Boccaccio soprannominato Principe Galeotto è una raccolta di cento novelle raccontate nell'arco di dieci giorni da una brigata di dieci giovani (sette donne e tre uomini) per sfuggire alla peste che imperversa a Firenze nel 1348. Ogni giornata è dedicata a un tema specifico e le novelle spaziano dall'amore (felice o tragico) all'ingegno dalla fortuna alle beffe offrendo un affresco vivido e complesso della società medievale. </p><p>L'opera è celebre per la sua vivacità narrativa la varietà dei personaggi e la ricchezza linguistica che contribuirono a definire il volgare fiorentino come lingua letteraria.
