Deep Lake House

<p>I am old. The paint in my rooms is peeling off the walls the wallpaper is curling at the seams. My barnboard flooring is scuffed and worn from much walking and running with hard-soled shoes. So begins the telling of the stories of some of the guests who've stayed at Deep Lake House. Many people have made their way to Deep Lake House over the years but only a few stand out among them - a train robber from the 1890s an unhappily married woman from the 1920s overshadowed by a dominating mother-in-law a talented opera singer in the 1940s who's lost her voice a young married couple in the 1970s trying to find their way back to each other and a few more as equally memorable. Each of these uniquely fascinating short stories is as captivating as the next told by the most authentic narrator the House itself.</p>
