DEFORESTATION AND ZOONOTIC INFECTIOUS DISEASES IN THE BRAZILIAN AMAZON

About The Book

Brazil is a country of continental dimensions internationally recognized for its capacity to offer a universal public policy of health care through the Unified Health System (SUS). However several difficulties are still encountered regarding the control of epidemics mainly zoonotic ones. Environmental public policies are still insufficient to contain environmental changes capable of generating health problems. The work addresses the probability of expanding the destruction of the Brazilian Amazon biome as a risk factor for outbreaks of aedes-related diseases. It is worth noting that the work was carried out prior to the Zicka outbreak in Brazil. With the flexibilization of the environmental normal during the Bolsonaro government the work gains impact in face of the national scenario.
