Degradation of Rhodamine B Dye Using Transition Metal Nanoparticles

About The Book

The Photo catalytic degradation of Rhodamine B was successfully carried out under UV irradiation over porous MgO nanocomposites with various molar ratios of MgO nanocomposites of wavelength ranging from 300-700 nm. The MgO nanoparticle was characterization of SEM XRD analysis FTIR UV Spectroscopy methods. It exhibits the increase of crystallinity with sharp intense peak and increase of size with varying morphologies respectively with respect to the increase of calcinations temperature. EDX result showed 37.49% presence of MgO nanoparticles by chemically synthesized using co-precipitation methods. SEM analysis confirmed the presence of iron nanoparticles. Optimum conditions was obtained for pH 2.5 and dosage 30 ml with 75% of dye degradation For the optimum conditions with the contact period of 3 hour 79% of dye removal efficiency was obtained under UV light source and 31% of dye removal efficiency was obtained for optimum condition of 3 hr residence time under sunlight chemically synthesized using co- precipitation methods MgO nanoparticles can be used as effective alternative catalyst in photo catalysis process for dye degradation and Photo catalytic study.
